Tereos
was created in 2003, when the two French market leaders got together.
Tereos is today the number two in the world, with industrial
establishments in Europe, Africa and America. This
agro-industrial cooperative group offers to its clientele all the
sweetening solutions they need worldwide. Tereos offers a wide range of
dry crystal sugars, from beet or cane, but also liquid sugars and
specialities (fondants, inverted sugars, fructo-oligo saccharides).
Syral, a subsidiary company created in 1996, offers a wide range of
sweetening solutions coming from cereals, such as glucose syrups or
mixes of glucose, dextrose and maltose.
With 9000 employees, Tereos processes each
year 10 million tons of beets and 10 million tons of sugar canes in 26
industrial units. Its competence
spreads over the entire beet or cane production channel, from raw
material to finished products. Thanks to this complete control, Tereos
benefits from a special relationship with pharmaceuticals.
